AP’s Department of Tribal Welfare has launched a mobile app to document and teach tribal dialects such as Savara, Gadaba, and Konda Dora. The app uses voice prompts, story recordings, and quizzes to engage users. It also captures spoken phrases from community elders to create linguistic archives. So far, over 500 elders have contributed 20,000 audio clips. Youth users have begun interactive language learning, promoting local dialects and preserving cultural identity. The app is also being used in school language classes. The project reflects growing efforts to digitize intangible cultural heritage.
